The seminar will focus on how the measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus in Africa – and globally – risk having a negative impact on democracy and respect for human rights thus reinforcing already existing tendencies to authoritarian regimes in Africa and elsewhere in developing countries. The seminar will also present experience from other African countries, where authorities are handling the Corona crisis while rying to consider human rights in challenging and fragile contexts.”
